Iran and the United States evoke the strongest hostility
The European Union and India should have greater influence in global affairs, according to a worldwide survey. The 2007 Voice of the People Survey, the world’s largest public opinion study, based on 57,000 people from 52 countries, found that 35% want a stronger role for the EU and 27% for India. Iran and the United States evoked the strongest hostility with 39% wanting a decline in Iranian influence on world affairs and 37% desirous of a decline in U.S. influence. China and Russia also faired poorly in the survey, which is conducted by Gallup and the European Council on Foreign Relations The United States was most loved in Kosovo, Panama and the Philippines. India was most popular in Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, and the United Kingdom.
