Hundreds of fatherless brides in India tie the knot as diamond tycoon funds their weddings in a mass celebration
The mass wedding in Surat featured 251 young couples, including five Muslim couples and a Christian couple.The celebration was hosted by Indian diamond trader Mahesh Savani in the western state of Gujarat, India. Savani performs the Hindu ritual ofKanyadaan' - the practice of giving away one's daughter in marriage.
