The Many Charms of Delhi Winters

The NRI travel guide to hottest spots Delhi during the winter.

By

The misty mornings, India Gate sneaking from behind a layer of fog, the green embrace of trees, bitter cold breeze brushing the body, wide roads with open spaces and the gush of steam from the tea kettles of roadside chaiwallas. These are the many charms of Delhi winters.

Falling in love with Delhi during winter is as easy and memorable as love at first sight. Delhi winters are so iconic that there is even a Bollywood number dedicated to it —Pyaar tera Dilli ki sardi

“I totally love Delhi winters. I have personally been fond of them. Unfortunately, in Mumbai we don’t get to feel winters so we miss it too much. The sight of fog, the warm clothes, staying in the blanket, cozying inside and eating yummy hot Punjabi food make Delhi winters super special,” says Nach Baliye 7 and Wajah Tum Ho fame actor Himmanshoo Ashok Malhotra, who was born and bred in Delhi.

Here is the best of what Delhi has to offer during the winter, when you can chuck the trip to airconditioned malls for these bountiful street experiences.
