Oxford Dictionary selects Aadhar as first Hindi word of the year; here is how Twitterati reacted
The Oxford Dictionaries has included the first ever Hindi word of the Year, after reviewing thousands of public suggestions.
The Oxford Dictionaries has included the first ever Hindi word of the Year, after reviewing thousands of public suggestions and also after consultations with the advisory panel of language experts. As per a tweet by it, the word that Oxford Dictionaries has included is Aadhar. Describing the reason behind the inclusion of the word, Oxford Dictionaries in its website said that the main reason behind inclusion this word, as Aadhar had the maximum discussion in recent times and will also continue to do so.
In its website, Oxford Dictionaries also said that after the government made it mandatory last year, there was a wide range of discussion not only politically but also socially. People of the country were asked to connect their Aadhar numbers with mobiles, bank accounts among others, it added further.
