| Indian researchers are working on a hand grenade packed with the world’s hottest chili powder for riot control and insurgency operations. Scientists propose to pack small hand grenades with the powder of Assam’s bhut jolokia pepper, reputed to be world’s hottest, 1000 times stronger than a typical pepper, whose heat will immobilize people.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is working on other applications of the pepper, including as a food supplement to warm soldiers in cold weather and coating on fences to drive away wild animals. |
