Marriageable Age?

The India Law Commission is advocating that the marriageable age of boys be lowered to 18 to bring it on par with girls.
Presently, the lowest permissible age for marriage for men is 21 and for girls 18. The proposal is running into opposition from physicians who argue that girls mature biologically three years before boys. The panel has also recommended lowering the age for sexual intercourse to 16. |
