“It’s a great honor and privilege to host you at the House of Commons, on October 19. We’ve decided to felicitate you, for the hard efforts you’ve put in through your movies to promote Karnataka’s art and culture,” Sharma wrote to the actor, according to the Deccan Herald.

The 40-year-old actor had a humble beginning in the industry with small roles in films and television. His debut as a lead actor was in the movie Majestic in 2001, after which he went on to do both commercial and art films. His stardom, however, has been waning in the last few years with his movie Ambaressha in 2014, Jaggu Dada in 2016 and Chakravarthy in 2017 not doing well at the box office. His latest movie Tarak, which was released last month, is said to have received good response, and is expected to give a boost to his popularity.
