Indian American UN Diplomat Nikki Haley Slams the Grammys for Mixing Politics with Music
The comedic performance was greeted with cheers, but Haley called out the awards for politicizing music.
U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley was among the millions who remained glued to their television sets Jan. 28 evening when the 60th annual Grammy Awards were being aired on CBS. However, contrary to most, she was left displeased after she watched a skit at the music’s biggest night.
Haley made her anger apparent after she watched the pre-taped skit that also involved former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
The night’s host, comedian James Cordon, asked Clinton and other celebrities, including John Legend, DJ Khaled, and Cher, to read from Michael Wolff’s controversial book, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.” Corden joked that the auditions were for the ‘2018 Best Spoken Word Album.’
