A 20-year-old British robber was relieved from community service because he was too sleepy to work.

Luke Sargent-Fisher plead guilty to burgling a home in Surrey and was sentenced to community service. His probation officers recommended that he be relieved from the sentence as he suffers from “attention deficit hyperactivity disorder,” which disrupts his sleeping pattern by creating “an excessive urge to sleep at inappropriate times, such as while at work.”

British Member of Parliament Priti Patel denounced the decision to let off Sargent-Fisher: “His sleep disorder did not stop him from burgling and causing his victims undue misery, which is why his disorder should not prevent him from being punished. This case makes a mockery of our justice system.”
