Hard Core Casual Gamer?

Remember the adage: when the law is against you, argue the facts; when the facts are against you, argue the law and if both the facts and the law are against you, jump up and down like thumper the bunny.

In the new electronic age, you can also take refuge in casual gaming – casual, as in not serious.

But casual gaming turned dead serious for law student Kavitha Yalavarthi of Odessa, Texas, who beat out 70 contestants for a whopping $1 million purse in the first-ever “World’s Best Casual Gamer 2006” contest.

Unlike hardcore gamers who are obsessed with fantasy dragons and murderous cops, Yalavarthi dueled 70 other contestants on three of the most popular casual games, Zuma, Bejeweled 2 and Solitaire.

Yalavarthi reportedly broke the news of her million dollar purse to her parents with a late-night call: “Mom, Dad, you know those casual games that I play online? Well, they’re not so casual anymore. I just won the $1 million grand prize.”

Guess, it was OK to wake them at midnight with the not-so-casual news.
