Half of Indians looking for a change

Around two-third of workers under the age of 24 are seriously considering leaving their current job, the survey found.

One in two Indian employees are considering changing their jobs, according to a survey by human resource consulting firm Mercer.

The survey of 2,000 workers in India, found that 54% are seriously considering leaving the organization they presently work for, twice as many as was reported in a similar survey in 2004.

Around two-third of workers under the age of 24 are seriously considering leaving their current job, the survey found.

“As the economy improves further and new job opportunities emerge, employers risk losing valued talent and also face productivity and morale issues among workers who continue to be with the organization,” Mercer Consulting India Managing Director Nishchae Suri said.
