Centenarian PhD

A 100-year-old Indian freedom fighter is vying to become the oldest Ph.D. student in the country.

Bholaram Das has enrolled for a PhD in Gauhati University in Assam, where he is being advised by his granddaughter, who is a university professor. Das retired as district court judge in 1971.
