The body of an Indian origin man has been found from a canal in Leicester, UK. The man was missing since Nov.10 this year and body was found by police divers on Nov.30.

Paresh Patel, 48, was last seen around 9 pm on Nov.10 while walking along Leicester’s Belgrave Road, which is known as the hub of Asian culture and business, reported the Hindustan Times.

The canal, in which Patel’s body was found, is in Abbey Park in Leicester.

After recovering the body of Patel, Leicestershire Police issued a statement saying, “The body of a man was found by police divers in the canal within Abbey Park, Leicester…The man has been formally identified as 48-year-old Paresh who was last seen on the evening of Saturday 10 November when he left his home address”.

Police have also said that Patel’s death is not being treated as a case of suspicion.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious…Officers would like to thank everyone who shared our appeals to help find Paresh and assisted with our enquiries,” Leicestershire said Police in the statement.

After the recovery of Patel’s body from the canal, his family issued a statement to the Mercury Leicester. Patel’s brother Nitin Patel said in this statement, “Tonight, it is with the heaviest of hearts that we inform you that our son, husband, father, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, Paresh, has been taken from us.”

In his statement on the behalf of the family, he also thanked people for their efforts in searching Patel.

“We wanted to thank you all with everything that we have, for every single moment of your time, that you gave to us, to help us find Paz,” Mercury Leicester quoted Nitin Patel as saying.

After Patel disappeared, his wife Kalpana issued an emotional video message asking him to come home.

“Everyone is so worried about you, our boys have been asking about you, trying to text you and ring you…Your mum has constantly been crying, I don’t know what to tell her to make her feel better,” she had said in the video, reported Leicestershire Live.

Around 500 community members were gathered with Patel family to trace him after he went missing.

Patel’s sons Kiyan and Harshal, aged 12 and 9 respectively, led a walk retracing the steps of their father while carrying a banner with ‘Come Home Daddy!’ written on it, the publication reported.
