Bank of Baroda gets reprieve in South Africa, but still faces criminal plaint
There are allegations that the bank has facilitated dealings between the Gupta brothers of India origin and Zuma’s family.
A South African court investigating corruption charges against former President Jacob Zuma and the Gupta family on Friday absolved Bank of BarodaBSE -1.90 % (BoB) of the charges of being in possession of “proceeds of crime”. But the staterun Indian bank still faces a criminal complaint filed against it by the opposition Democratic Alliance party.
