As a 25-year-old Australian Punjabi Ends His life, It’s Time to Introspect

"Harmeet 'Hudda' Shetra was born and brought up in Australia, was a wonderful rugby player who was well-loved by all, but left his family and community in shock in July this year when he committed suicide," mental health social worker Jatinder Kaur told SBS Punjabi.

Jatinder Kaur was contacted by friends of the Shetra family to provide counselling and help after the entire Woolgoolga community was shaken by Harmeet’s passing.

“He was well known in the community, and played for Woolgoolga Rugby League Club,” Ms Kaur told SBS Punjabi.

“He suffered from anxiety and depression.”
