Samsung Opens World’s Largest Mobile Experience Center in Bengaluru
Visitors at Samsung Opera House at Brigade Road in Bengaluru will enjoy experiences that revolve around technologies such as Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things.
Samsung launched its new mobile experience center in Bengaluru on Sept. 11, turning the city’s iconic Opera House theater on Brigade Road into Samsung Opera House. This is the world’s largest mobile experience center, the South Korean tech giant said.
The Samsung Opera House aims to unite technology, lifestyle and innovation to offer people unique experiences, the company said in a statement.
The company has also called the opening of this center an attempt to bring technology and culture together to rediscover the lost sheen of the historic cultural hub.
The center will showcase different product experiences built around Samsung’s philosophy of future. These experiences revolve around transformative technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT). The center is offering these experiences free of cost to visitors as of now, an executive told Little India.
Promised as a must-visit destination for the city’s millennial crowd, the opera house will provide a tech-enabled journey through its 4D Sway Chair or the Whiplash Pulsar 4D chair, that makes 360-degree three-dimensional movements.
Further, one can slip into the role of a fighter pilot doing extreme aircraft stunts, or experience a space battle, or a roller coaster ride, the statement added.
An array of VR experiences will take visitors through different journeys like kayaking or rowing, while for fitness enthusiasts, the house will provide a cycle through scenic Europe, racing alongside a friend.
The center can be pre-booked by customers for watching movies and shows with their families.
Samsung intends to be a part of the larger community in Bengaluru with its one-of-a-kind experience center, which is a part of the company’s “Make for India” venture, Mohandeep Singh, Senior Vice President, Mobile Business, said, IANS reported.
“We are looking at more number of such experience centers in the country. We are looking at covering all the big cities in India over a period of time with such centers,” he added.
“Today’s consumers, especially millennials, seek unique experiences. They want to interact with the brand, touch, feel and create. This is what Samsung Opera House is about. We have curated never seen before experiences that will excite people of all age groups alike. Opera House will also organize workshops, activities and events, bringing together Samsung’s innovations with people’s passions,” HC Hong, President & CEO, Samsung South-West Asia, stated in the statement.
A majority of residents of Bengaluru (81 percent) have had at least one “game changer” idea, which could transform India’s work or leisure life, but one out of three does not know of a place in the city where they can network with like-minded people and mentors, and nurture their ideas, a survey commissioned by the company showed, according to the statement.
The opera house will also showcase the latest models of Samsung smartphones and wearable devices, alongside flagship consumer electronics products such as the QLED TV, Smart TV, The Frame, and Family Hub Refrigerators. The Home Appliance zone will have a kitchen set-up where a chef will provide live cooking demonstrations using Samsung smart ovens.
The 33,000 sq ft standalone property has been renovated and restored to suit the venture, the statement added.
In July this year, Samsung inaugurated the world’s largest mobile phone factory at Noida near New Delhi. The new Samsung facility, set up with an investment of about Rs 5,000 crore, is said to have a capacity of manufacturing 120 million phones a year, up from the current production of 67 million phones.
