Rupee Plunges to Record Low of 71 Against US Dollar
With a fall of 9.90 per cent, rupee is worst performing currency in Asian on year-to-date basis.
After hitting its fresh all-time low of 71-mark against the US dollar in opening trade, the local currency was trading 17 paise down at 70.91.
Month-end dollar demand from importers and rising crude oil prices in the international market during the last couple of sessions mainly pressurised the local currency.
