Sensex Closes 117 Points Lower; IT, Metal, Banks Lead Losses
The BSE Sensex on Thursday ended down 0.7% (provisional), as higher inflation and concerns over the health of the global economy dampened investors' appetite for bargain buys. The main 30-share BSE index provisionally closed 16,168.10 points. The 50-share NSE index also fell a provisional 40.95 points to 4,847.95.
