'PGI Should Look For an NRI as Director'

Chandigarh: While the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry, has selected its director, the PGIMER is still awaiting its new chief. Both institutes fall under the Act of Parliament and have made NRIs eligible to apply for the post to let the Indians. Favouring the decision of preventing brain drain, former Prof of Pediatric Surgery, PGI, KL Narasimhan said following the example of the JIPMER, the PGIMER should also look outside its own doctors.
