Ramalinga Raju, founder chairman of Satyam Computers, currently imprisoned on chrages of masterminding India’s biggest corporate fraud, has published a book of Telugu poems, which include odes to morality and ethics. “Conscience is the sound of a bee’s wing. It’s a sound you cannot switch off.’’
Another poem reflects on betrayal.
“What’s the greatest betrayal of all?….
The betrayal that beats all betrayals
is the one perpetrated by you upon yourself.
At another stage he writes:
Let me live in deed and thought
Honestly
In one poem he writes:
Don’t ignore anything
Don’t belittle anyone
The numbers you count
Always alter your calculations
That is what the birds in cage
Always say about you
In another poem, he gets metaphysical:
…Oxygen, Carbon, Hydrogen
Iron, Sulphur, Iodine, Copper, Zinc, Fluoride
Bill all of them together
Add DNA, paste to taste
Put a lid till all grind to a heavenly mix
That is Man.
