Trump Expresses Solidarity with Indians on Ten-Year Anniversary of Mumbai Attacks

President Donald Trump has expressed his country’s solidarity with Indians on the ten-year anniversary of the Mumbai terror attacks in which 166 people died and hundreds of others were injured.

Six American nationals also died in the dreaded terror attacks carried out by ten Pakistan-based LeT terrorists on Nov. 26, 2008. Multiple locations were targeted by terrorists in the attacks which lasted till Nov.29, 2008. The only terrorist to be apprehended alive was Ajmal Kasab who was later hanged after due judicial proceedings.

Trump took to the Twitter to express his thoughts on Nov.26 and tweeted, “On the ten-year anniversary of the Mumbai terror attack, the U.S. stands with the people of India in their quest for justice. The attack killed 166 innocents, including six Americans. We will never let terrorists win, or even come close to winning!”


According to a PTI report, the U.S. has also announced a $5 million reward for any information leading to the arrest or conviction of any individual or nation involved in Mumbai attacks in any way.
State Department’s program Reward for Justice (RFJ) said in its tweet, “Reward of up to $5 million for information leading to the arrest or conviction in any country of any individual involved in planning or facilitating the November 2008 Mumbai attack.”


This is third such reward to be announced by the U.S. A bounty of $10 million was previously announced by the U.S. State Department for Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Mohammad Saeed and $2 million for Hafiz Abdul Rahman Makki, another leader of LeT, reported NDTV.

A solemn event in the memory of victims of 26/11 attacks was also organized in the Indian Embassy in Washington DC, which was attended by Ambassador-at-Large and Coordinator for Counterterrorism in the U.S. State Department Nathan A. Sales, Basant Sanghera and Jennifer Whethey, Director in the U.S. National Security Council at the White House, Rabbi Levi Shemstov, Executive Vice President, American Friends of Lubavitch (Chabad).

Navtej Sarna, India’s Ambassador in the U.S., condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and urged the international community to call on Pakistan to bring the perpetrators of this heinous terrorist attacks to justice.
