A man, believed to be of Indian-origin was left severely beaten on a footpath on Tuesday night in Auckland city, New Zealand. The 25-year-old man, was brutally beaten with a baseball bat by an unidentified person on a road in Takanini. He is currently in a critical condition, as per the media reports.
The incident took place at approximately 10.20pm local time on Tuesday night on Great South Road, Takanini. Police are seeking the public’s help to identify the man, senior sergeant Karen Bright of Counties Manukau Police, said.
Critical Condition
“He is in a critical condition in Auckland Hospital and Police are requesting the public’s help to identify this man so we (can) contact his family,” Bright said in a press release.
He described the man as wearing “a grey collared shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers with white soles.”
Police Seeking Public Help
He said it is important to identify the man as he will need his family and friends to support him while he remains in a serious condition. The police are also seeking to talk to anyone who may have witnessed the assault or has any information about who the man is.
