NRI Students At IIM

By:

The enrollment of NRI students in the Indian Institutes of Management has doubled in the past year. NRI enrollment at IIM Banglaore rose fivefold from just one last year to five this year. IIM Ahmedabad saw its NRI enrollment grow from six last year to 11 this year, while at IIM Calcutta it grew from 9 to 14 and at IIM Lucknow from two to five this year.

IIM-Ahemdabad Director Sameer Barua told the Economic Times:

"India is an attractive economy which is emerging at the global level. We see a lot of Indians coming back home to work here and also many expats who choose India as their workplace. This, coupled with attractive offers from various MNCs which come to IIMs to offer jobs in India or anywhere around the world, has attracted many NRI students. We will see the numbers only increasing in the coming years."
